About The Fox River Trail

With over two million visitors since 1999, The Fox River State Recreational Trail has been an invaluable asset to the Brown County; providing tourism, scenic recreation, transportation, health and fun.  The trail is approximately 26.3 miles long. The trailhead is at the end of Porlier Street in Green Bay and follows the Fox River south through Allouez, De Pere, Greenleaf, Forest Junction, and ends at Ott Road, north of Hilbert.

The Fox River Trail is managed by Brown County Parks Department. It is open year-round from 5 am to 9 pm. This past winter Brown County Parks partnered with Green Bay, Allouez and De Pere to clear snow and ice from the paved portion of the trail. With a successful roll out it is expected that clearing will continue in future years.

While The Fox River Trail is free to enjoy for walking, Wisconsin State Recreational Trail passes are required for those 16 and over who are using wheels on the trail (bicycle, rollerblades or skateboards). Daily passes are available for $5, annual passes are $25. If you purchase a pass from a Brown County Parks vendor, 70% of the fee stays with Brown County Parks. The other 30% goes to WisDNR for trail projects state-wide. Visit www.browncountyparks.org for information on how to purchase pass.
