(Brown County, WI): The Fox River State Trail is in the process of being resurfaced with asphalt between the trailhead, at the intersections of Porlier Street and Adams Street in the City of Green Bay, and six miles south to Heritage Road, in the City of De Pere.  We understand this process has caused disruptions to commuters and recreational enthusiasts.  Here is the updated resurfacing and closure schedule:

Village of Allouez Storm Water Pipe Replacement –

The trail will be closed to all users from 7:00 a.m. Monday, June 9, 2025, until 3:00 p.m. Friday, June 13, 2025, between Lazarre Avenue and the old Mariner Motel near the intersection of Riverside Drive and St. Joseph Street.   The contractor will have heavy equipment and an open cut in the trail for pipe replacement.  There will not be access through this area.

Phase 2 Resurfacing –These two sections will be under construction from Friday, May 30 – June 20, 2025.

Please note that these dates are subject to change due to any unexpected weather delays.

  • This phase will cover the trail section from Porlier Pier in the City of Green Bay to Marine Steet in Allouez, and Lazarre Avenue in Allouez to Fox Point Boat Landing in De Pere.
  • The trail will be closed from Monday, June 2 to Friday, June 6 for milling and paving activities.
  • The trail will not be fully closed for other construction activities, but it is recommended to use other sections of the trail until construction is complete.

Phase 3 Resurfacing – These two sections will be under construction from June 26 – July 23, 2025.

Please note that these dates are subject to change due to any unexpected weather delays.

  • This phase will cover the trail section from William Street to Fox Point Landing in De Pere, and Lazarre Avenue to Marine Street in Allouez.
  • The trail will be closed from Monday, June 30 to Thursday, July 3 for milling and paving.
  • The trail will not be fully closed for other construction activities, but it is recommended to use other sections of the trail until construction is complete.

No marked detours will be provided.  We ask that trail users plan ahead and respect the equipment operators as they complete the repairs.  Thank you for understanding and respecting the work, as the work is an investment into the trail that our community has come to appreciate.
